What is Data Analysis?
Data analysis is the process of taking known facts, finding patterns, and making better decisions.
(1) Instead of just guessing what to do, you can use it to break down big problems into smaller bits.
(2) Those smaller bits then can be easier to understand, and some of the bits wont matter.
(3) Once you understand the smaller bits, you can see if any of them are the same problem.
(4) And then, if you see some of them are the same problem, you can think why they are the same.
(5) And if you see why they are the same, then you may think of a way to fix the big problem.
Data analysis can be used anytime you have any problem. That means if I teach you Data analysis, I don't need to "teach" anything from those books.
The 5 Steps of Data Analysis
(1) Get The Facts: Instead of just guessing what to do, you can use it to break down big problems into smaller bits.
(2) Throw out the Junk: Those smaller bits then can be easier to understand, and some of the bits wont matter.
(3) Find Patterns: Once you understand the smaller bits, you can see if any of them are the same problem.
(4) Understand the Patterns: And then, if you see some of them are the same problem, you can think why they are the same.
(5) Find the Answer: And if you see why they are the same, then you may think of a way to fix the big problem.
The Big Problem:
PROBLEM GOES HERE!
(1) Get The Facts: XYZ
(2) Throw out the Junk: XYZ
(3) Find Patterns: XYZ
(4) Understand the Patterns: XYZ
(5) Find the Answer: XYZ
